Perception Mod is a visual utility designed to bridge the gap between static gameplay and a more reactive, cinematic environment. Instead of complex shader-like changes, it focuses on “holistic” sensory feedback—specifically how your character perceives motion and sound. By adding dynamic trails to moving entities and projectiles, the mod makes combat and movement feel faster and more fluid. It also features a directional screen-shake system that responds to explosions or nearby loud noises, which not only boosts immersion but acts as a tactical tool to help you pinpoint exactly where a threat is coming from.
Because the mod is in active development by SSKirillSS, it is frequently updated with more refined features, such as heartbeat effects for the Warden and calibrated shaking for falls and swift movements. It is highly flexible and available for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge on modern versions like 1.21.x. To function properly, it requires the OctoLib library mod. While it is designed to work out of the box, it includes an extensive configuration file that allows you to adjust the intensity of the shaking or disable specific trails if you prefer a more subtle experience.
